Grandmaster Chen Xiaoxing will be returning to Chicago to teach his family’s art.  This will be Grandmaster Chen’s final visit to Chicago to teach.

there will be a banquet to celebrate Master Chen’s reitirement and to thank him for his teaching, patience, and time away from his family over such a long period of time.  The banquet will be held at the Potsticker House in Chicago on March 24 at 6:00pm.  There is a form link below to RSVP for this banquet.  Please RSVP by March 9 to ensure that the reservations go smoothly.

Master Chen Ziqiang will return to Chicago to teach his family’s art, November 9-12, 2017

Chen Ziqiang will be returning to Chicago to teach his family’s art. Chen Laoshi will teach stretching, standing post, silk-reeling exercises, and push hands training and skills.

Stretching, standing post, and silk reeling exercises serve as essential fundamentals for deep Taiji development. Push hands practice is also a vital component to Taiji training, providing important feedback informing one’s form training as well as a means to investigate and practice applications from the movements.

9 am – 12 pm, 2 pm – 5 pm – Chen family double mace form instruction/correction* (see video below)

*You will need to bring your own sticks.  Dowel rods or PVC pipe will work well and can be found at Home Depot, Lowes, etc.  Master Chen suggests sticks should be ~36 inches in length.

(BYOM: STICKS WILL NOT BE PROVIDED. You can make maces out of dowel rod. Length: with arm at your side, length of maces should be ~distance from top of your head to your fingertips. Or multiply your height in inches by 0.62 to get sticks with proportions similar to what Chen Ziqiang uses. Please see the beginning of the video below as a reference)
